For this outfit of the day, I decided to pair my denim bell-sleeved shirt that I have worn in my previous post "Sabbath Selfie" with one of my favorite jeans. These jeans are very comfortable, stretchy and hugs every curve. With denim on denim you can never go wrong. This look is simple, and playful. I added a touch of color with my multi-colored Ankara hair piece. Lastly, to complete the look I added my ankle boots and voila! These boots are super-duper comfortable, I can last all day in them and the best part is it was not expensive from Target. This look is perfect for brunch with the besties, a simple tour at the botanical garden (like I did) on a day with nice weather, grocery shopping, running little errands or even casual dress day at work. And like my other posts I try my best not to spend a fortune to complete my outfits.
5 Helpful Tips for Assembling Your Outfits:
One of the problems us ladies sometimes encounter is that we struggle putting the pieces we already have in our closets together. Sometimes the draw-dropping outfit is right there looking us in the eyes only to be discovered. Oftentimes we tend to be blindsided by societal norms and believes that if the clothing is not brand name or expensive then we don't look good or feel rejected. If you are one of those persons, then you're so wrong and completely misinterpret the idea of fashion and self esteem. Yes, it is true that fashion plays an important role in building self esteem and confidence because if we dress good, look good then we will definitely feel better about ourselves, but this does not necessarily mean that we have to do so expensively.
A lot of great outfits must be original, try to bring out your best personality with your dressing, Try to embrace your uniqueness and be your own individual. With fashion there is never a right or wrong way, just try to be creative and be bold on taking risks.
Tip #1: Try to utilize what you already have.
Dig deep into those closets ladies, look through those clothing racks, shoe stands and see how you can pull off an outfit with things you already own. It is not always about buying a new outfit for every occasion, but its about knowing how to work with what you already own. Dress it up, dress it down, be creative, add a pinch of color, a touch of jewelry (for those who wear them) and that $50.00 outfit can easily be seen as an $500.00 outfit.
Tip #2: Shop Smart
Another cool tip is always shop smart, know your needs vs your wants, shop for quality and not quantity, have a budget (we often times get carried away), shop for deals, sales and clearance. Executing any of these tips will definitely get you your moneys worth. Upon on browsing the web I discovered this post, "creating a well-stocked closet is an art form. It's about knowing how to balance what you want with what you actually need (and already have). Spending strategically and realizing what really works for you: your lifestyle, personality, figure and budget". Next time you go shopping, be mindful of these.
Tip #3: Know your body type and size
Not only is it very important to know your body type and size, but it is equally important to be in acceptance of it. Too many times, I've seen overly sized women squeezed up into some tiny outfits and wonder to myself how on earth did they leave the house like that or in other cases ladies please do not hide those beautiful curves that you are blessed with, just do it in moderation.
Tip #4: Quality counts NOT Quantity
When shopping the quality of the clothing matters a lot. Is it something you will see yourself wearing another time, is the material durable, is it worth the buy are few of the questions we should be asking ourselves.
Tip #5: Budgeting
The only best person that knows your pocket better than you do is YOU. Do not try to go above your means to satisfy your wants. For those of us who shops with debit or credit cards we can be easily carried away and swipe our way into trouble. For those of us credit card users that are tempted to shop ever so often, I will advice you to put a scissor to it or completely resist the urge to purchase until that bill is cleared. Here's what I want you to practice (and I will too), before shopping always set a limit of how much you want to spend and stick to it. I know its easier said than done for most of us shopaholics out there, but nothing try nothing done.
It is also very important not to be caught up with material things, but rather build on things that are of values, meaningful and eternal. So when we limit or spending, determine our needs from your wants and utilize what we already have we can always be on point.
Well said.. that's my point at all times ...you brought that across very clear
