Simple Black Dress

Hey Guys! I'm really excited to start blogging again. I must apologize for the little hiccup that encountered. It's has been a little bit of a rollercoaster. However, going forward my aim is to be much more consistent. So, let's just get right into it. Every woman loves a little black dress that is able to fit for any occasion. This one in particular is very simple, but sometimes simple is what works best. Ladies, if you do not own one my advice to you is to get one. I gravitated towards this one mostly because of the pearl embellishment, which I think makes a great design around the neckline. What's so great about the embellishment is it omits the need of wearing a necklace. This dress is perfect for church, business, work, the office and much more. It is perfect length mid-knee and got you fully covered.  Let's talk about the clutch. This bamboo clutch is what's in style. It is vintage, sophisticated and totally pulls off this entire look. It i...

White Must Haves

This week I celebrated my birthday and wanted to do it all white. I was blessed enough to celebrate with family and friends. All, thanks to God for another year in good health and a sound mind. About a year ago, I bought these two pieces and did not get the opportunity to wear them, so I was excited to finally wear them. In these two outfits I definitely looked and felt like a million dollars. As you all should know by now, I'm a big advocate of FASHION ON A  BUDGET. So, of course, drum roll please, these two outfits from head to toe cost less than $100.00. Ask me how I do it and I would be more than happy to help. White Must Have #1: The White Cape Jumpsuit FABULOUS! I absolutely love this outfit. The material is very soft on the skin, stretchy and is perfect for all body types. This outfit does an awesome job at elongating the legs. For all my hard working ladies out there, this cape jumpsuit is perfect for you. I promise you will look and feel amazing. This look i...

Denim on Denim

For this outfit of the day, I decided to pair my denim bell-sleeved shirt that I have worn in my previous post "Sabbath Selfie" with one of my favorite jeans. These jeans are very comfortable, stretchy and hugs every curve. With denim on denim you can never go wrong. This look is simple, and playful.  I added a touch of color with my multi-colored Ankara hair piece. Lastly, to complete the look I added my ankle boots and voila! These boots are super-duper  comfortable, I can last all day in them and the best part is it was not expensive from Target. This look is perfect for brunch with the besties, a simple tour at the botanical garden (like I did) on a day with nice weather, grocery shopping, running little errands or even casual dress day at work. And like my other posts I try my best not to spend a fortune to complete my outfits.   5 Helpful Tips for Assembling Your Outfits:   One of the problems us ladies sometimes encounter is that we struggl...

Sabbath Selfies

As like many other sabbaths, it is always great to be in the house of the Lord worshipping and giving praise. It was a great day spent in the Lord.  Now, let me just chat little about my look in my sabbath selfies. I was very happy to pull this look off and got quite a few compliments. I actually was being a little bold when I put these pieces together. Rather than staying on the safe side of matching my skirt with a plain old red, white, green or perhaps yellow top I decided to have a little fun with denim.  This is not the ordinary denim shirt you'll come across often, so this particular one caught my eyes. This bell sleeve denim shirt is from the brand "Romeo and Juliet". You can wear it with a skirt like I did, a simple white pants or denim on denim. It is great, very stylish! Ok, so let's talk skirt. Love, love it. Recently, I've developed a liking for floral prints. Not only is it floral, but stripped as well. This flare skirt was perfect f...

Mi Dry Head Story (My Hair Story)

For all my non patios speaking viewers here is a list of translation to bare in mind while you enjoy reading. "nyamins'"-eating "yuh betta mek it las yuh two weeks enuh"- your hair must be kept for two weeks, ok! " it gree wid yuh hair"- It grows your hair or it works good with your hair "bruk"- break "mi tun hyatt gyal"- I became a hot girl "fahrin"- Overseas or in this case America "mi gud like dat"- I'm good like that As a child, I remember every Sunday mornings, my mom, aunt or grandma washed my hair with "blue bar soup"a.k.a "blue soup" because we could not afford shampoo or conditioner. Of course back in the 90's, I was unaware how to properly care for my own hair. Even though detangling my hair was a tedious process, I had to sit still imprisoned by the tight grip of thighs until it was done. The process continued by greasing my scalp with "Blue Magic Hair...

Putting Bandaid on the Resolutions of Yesteryear

OUT with the OLD and IN with the NEW, is a phrase we often use from time to time. People go crazy making new goals and aspirations they wish to accomplish for the new year (and that's okay), but the question is, how many uncheck boxes do we still have lingering from prior resolutions? Let me briefly define the word resolution. According to Merriam Webster, resolution derives from the word resolve which implies a solution or in other words problem solving. The prefix "re" means "again and again" or "back" (I hope y'all see where I'm going here), therefore it doesn't mean that each year we need to set brand new goals, but it means another opportunity to "re"-visit the old list and continue working over and over towards making those additional checks.  Don't be too hard on yourselves if you didn't accomplish all you've wanted in 2017, rather, be hopeful that with the new year brings strength and health and another...
