Putting Bandaid on the Resolutions of Yesteryear

OUT with the OLD and IN with the NEW, is a phrase we often use from time to time. People go crazy making new goals and aspirations they wish to accomplish for the new year (and that's okay), but the question is, how many uncheck boxes do we still have lingering from prior resolutions?

Let me briefly define the word resolution. According to Merriam Webster, resolution derives from the word resolve which implies a solution or in other words problem solving. The prefix "re" means "again and again" or "back" (I hope y'all see where I'm going here), therefore it doesn't mean that each year we need to set brand new goals, but it means another opportunity to "re"-visit the old list and continue working over and over towards making those additional checks.

Don't be too hard on yourselves if you didn't accomplish all you've wanted in 2017, rather, be hopeful that with the new year brings strength and health and another chance to "re"-visit the list of yesteryear.

Ever, so often we tend to put bandaids on goals we've set and have failed, because we are so concerned with what the world thinks. We tend to cover it up and move on to the next, without a second attempt.  Listen up, if anyone can speak about failure, IT'S ME. Don't be bothered by what people think. Be bold and rip off those bandaged dreams. I promise you'll be a better person for the new year. That's my aim. I hope this is speaking to some of you out there.

It's time for the "do-overs" people, that weight you didn't loose, that job you didn't get, that risk you didn't take or whatever the case may be. Put your best foot forward continue to persevere in your struggles, the race is not for the swift nor the strong, but for those who endures to the end!

A wise man once say, "our destiny is not written for us, but by us"-Barack Obama.

Go write your destiny folks, not only for the new year but for a lifetime.

Dress warm out there people! They say everything is better in black and white!

Simple Black Dress

Hey Guys! I'm really excited to start blogging again. I must apologize for the little hiccup that encountered. It's has been a little bit of a rollercoaster. However, going forward my aim is to be much more consistent. So, let's just get right into it. Every woman loves a little black dress that is able to fit for any occasion. This one in particular is very simple, but sometimes simple is what works best. Ladies, if you do not own one my advice to you is to get one. I gravitated towards this one mostly because of the pearl embellishment, which I think makes a great design around the neckline. What's so great about the embellishment is it omits the need of wearing a necklace. This dress is perfect for church, business, work, the office and much more. It is perfect length mid-knee and got you fully covered.  Let's talk about the clutch. This bamboo clutch is what's in style. It is vintage, sophisticated and totally pulls off this entire look. It i...

Here are 3 simple tips to keep in mind when dress shopping this summer: Tip #1: Know Y our Body Type Find a dress that fits you well and wear it right. It d oesn't matter your body type, whether you are the average ruler, apple, pear or hourglass shaped there's always something out there that will compliment your body type. For hourglass, apple and pear body types, it is always best to wear dresses that hugs the waistline and bring out your shape. For ruler shaped body type try to focus on the legs and get a dress that elongates the legs. Tip #2: Know The Occasion It is always best to inquire ahead of time to know the dress code for a summer picnic, party or any summer event. Knowing the dress code helps with narrowing your options and makes the process a little easier.   Tip #3: Go For Pastel Colors Bri...

Denim on Denim

For this outfit of the day, I decided to pair my denim bell-sleeved shirt that I have worn in my previous post "Sabbath Selfie" with one of my favorite jeans. These jeans are very comfortable, stretchy and hugs every curve. With denim on denim you can never go wrong. This look is simple, and playful.  I added a touch of color with my multi-colored Ankara hair piece. Lastly, to complete the look I added my ankle boots and voila! These boots are super-duper  comfortable, I can last all day in them and the best part is it was not expensive from Target. This look is perfect for brunch with the besties, a simple tour at the botanical garden (like I did) on a day with nice weather, grocery shopping, running little errands or even casual dress day at work. And like my other posts I try my best not to spend a fortune to complete my outfits.   5 Helpful Tips for Assembling Your Outfits:   One of the problems us ladies sometimes encounter is that we struggl...
